What are we creating?
Kindergarten and 1st GradeBoth kindergartners and 1st graders spend 5 day blocks in Art. We are currently learning about the elements of art and creating artworks using color, line, shape, and texture.

2nd-5th Grade RotationsIn the weeks between focus areas, every 2nd through 5th grade class rotates through the art room. These classes focus on the basics of art elements, use of varied materials, and creative expression.
|
Focus AreasBy choosing an art focus area, students are able to spend every day for six weeks in the art room. Focus areas allow for in-depth study of specific subjects or media and often produce elaborate masterpieces demonstrating student understanding. Focus areas have just begun and we're excited to create art both individually and in teams. To learn more about what's happening in Art Focus Areas, click the link below.

What is an Art Star? One student is chosen from each class on a daily basis and awarded an Art Star ticket. This student is one who has demonstrated excellent behavior, been kind to others, and tried their very best in their artwork.
